Create + / − condition rows and group labels
Use condition rows for treatment status, dose and time. Paste from Excel, center the values and underline lane groups.
Before you startPrepare the treatment, dose and time for each lane.
Illustrated guide
01Add a row for each treatment
Expand Layout and formatting and click + Condition row. Name the left label Drug, siRNA or your treatment. Enter + or − in each lane to show whether that treatment was applied. Add separate rows for dose, time or sample IDs.
02Copy condition text as a range
Drag from the first lane across adjacent cells, press Ctrl+C, then paste with Ctrl+V at the destination’s top-left cell. You can also paste a multirow, multicolumn Excel table into a lane input; additional condition rows are created. Check lane count and order after pasting.
03Align and style the symbols
Drag-select the + / − cells, choose Center under Selected content and use a consistent font size. The symbols are condition text: simply type + and −. They do not represent a measured intensity.
04Merge group labels and add borders
Add a group-label row, select adjacent cells in the same group and choose Merge cells. Enter the group name, enable the bottom border and adjust its width, length and alignment.
05Split merged cells when needed
Select the merged cell. When splitting, choose Restore original cells or Keep merged text, then inspect the cell labels. Undo if the result is not what you intended.
06Check the export preview
Open Export preview and check condition names, symbols, dose units and lane order. For long labels, return to Layout and formatting to adjust widths, heights or angles, then preview again.
