WB Figure Studio Terms of Service

1. Provider and agreement

WB Figure Studio is provided and maintained by Shen, an individual developer based in mainland China. The official website is wbfigure.top. “We” means this service provider, and “you” means the user of the software or account services. For support, purchases, refunds, privacy and security matters, contact samskaras@163.com.

Before registering an account, redeeming a license or making a purchase, read these terms and the Privacy Policy and accept them through the relevant explicit confirmation. Simply browsing public information creates no purchase or payment obligation. The service is for users aged 18 or above who have the legal capacity required by applicable law. You must have appropriate authority when acting for a laboratory, institution or another person.

These terms, together with the product, duration, price and delivery information expressly accepted for a purchase, form the relevant service agreement. More favorable commitments made for a particular transaction and rights granted by applicable law remain effective. Later revisions do not automatically change substantive rights under a license you have already obtained.

2. Software and services

WB Figure Studio is desktop software for organizing Western blot images, selecting and annotating bands, arranging figures, quantifying selected regions, exporting source-data records as PDF/PPTX and backing up projects. Features, available platforms and system requirements are described for each version on its download page. The software and its licenses are digital products; no physical goods are supplied.

Experimental images and projects are processed on your computer. The website provides account, licensing, device-management and support services; it does not provide cloud processing, cloud storage or automatic synchronization of experimental images between computers. Initial sign-in requires a connection. After successful online verification in 2.1, basic offline access on the same computer lasts up to 30 days. Advanced access ends at the earlier of the trial or paid expiry and that 30-day limit. A 2.x permanent or lifetime license still requires verification every 30 days. Restarting does not renew the allowance; signing out ends it. Advanced expiry does not delete projects or independent permanent rights. See the licensing FAQ for details.

This product is not an AI service that generates experimental results and is not a medical product for diagnosis, treatment or clinical decisions. Software output does not replace source records, experimental validation or professional judgment.

3. Accounts, verification and security

Register using a working email address and password. A new account on an eligible device starts a full-feature trial of up to one month upon successful registration, subject also to device trial checks. No trial activation code or payment method is required.

The registration email is a success notification. Failed delivery does not affect a trial that has started, and the notification does not confirm email ownership. Request a separate verification email in your account when needed. Necessary registration, licensing and password notices are sent to that email address.

Registration alone does not establish a paid license. Actual entitlement and expiry depend on account and device checks and the license you received.

Keep your email information accurate, protect your password and activation codes, and do not share an account with unauthorized persons or impersonate someone else. Report suspicious access, exposed credentials or incorrect account binding promptly to samskaras@163.com. We will take necessary and proportionate protective measures. Unauthorized activity does not automatically release us from responsibilities imposed by law.

A standard account supports two regular desktop devices. If an upgrade or reinstall changes device identification, the app may provide a temporary recovery slot after sign-in to the same account, so an old record does not block use. This does not permanently increase the device allowance. Review old devices in your account afterward. An expressly different allowance in your license takes precedence. Browser access does not use a desktop device slot. Contact support if you need help. Administrator accounts use a separate management entrance and permissions.

4. Free trial and license duration

A new account on an eligible device receives the full feature set for one month calculated in UTC from successful registration. Existing accounts keep their recorded first-trial dates, which are shown in your account. The desktop app also checks device trial history: access ends no later than the earlier of the account and device deadlines.

For the same recognized device, changing email, reinstalling the app, moving a project package or unlinking it does not restart its trial. Contact support for manual review of a shared computer, repair or replacement that causes an identification problem. An approved review restores only the original account’s remaining trial time, without granting another month.

No payment is taken when the trial ends. In 2.0, registered users keep free basic tools and projects are not deleted when trial or paid access expires. Choose a paid term if you need to continue using advanced features.

Paid monthly, quarterly, six-month and annual plans provide the same features for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. In 2.0, registered accounts keep free strip editing, image display adjustments, figure layout, merged cells, standard figure export, and project backup and restore. Antibody tools, quantification, biological replicate analysis and source-data reports require an active trial or paid license. Standard purchases append to active entitlements or begin at delivery when none remains. Monthly upgrades follow the separate rule below. For a monthly activation-code purchase, contact support to review credit; redemption time is not the payment date.

The deadline for redeeming a code is distinct from the duration of use. Both are described when the code is supplied. Sign in to your account to redeem an existing code.

There is no automatic renewal or recurring charge. Simply do not purchase another license if you do not wish to pay for a further term; no subscription-cancellation button is required. Stopping use or reaching expiry does not upload your experimental images to the website. Save any projects, exports and backups you need before expiry, account closure or uninstallation.

Permanent licenses and launch availability

The 2.x perpetual license costs ¥199 / $39, has no subscription expiry, and includes all paid 2.x features and updates. A 3.x perpetual upgrade costs ¥99 / $19. Lifetime access includes future major releases of this software: ¥299 / $59 for the first 100 accounts worldwide, then ¥399 / $79. Currencies and upgrades share the limit. All plans allow up to two regular computers; basic features remain free.

Within 30 days of payment completion, one unrefunded term purchase may credit its paid product subtotal toward a perpetual or lifetime license on the same account and in the same currency. A buyout may also upgrade to lifetime within 30 days. Chained upgrades credit cumulative payments without duplicate credit or restarting the original deadline. Credited entitlements convert to the target; independent entitlements remain. Taxes, gifts and conversion fees are excluded.

An annual pass includes major releases during its term; an independently owned 2.x license remains after expiry. Launch slots are reserved at checkout and count as sold after payment; refunds do not reopen sold slots. Pay a locked quote within its deadline or request a new quote. The lifetime upgrade is not permanently fixed at ¥100.

Permanent means no subscription expiry. Updates and online account, activation and device-transfer services are provided while the software remains in operation; no fixed update frequency or future release is guaranteed. Desktop access remains subject to the 30-day offline verification cycle. Before discontinuation, arrangements for license migration or offline activation for purchased versions should be announced. Permanent access does not promise compatibility with every future device or operating system.

5. Prices and first-year offer

A monthly order may be credited once within 30 days of verified payment toward a regular annual plan. The first-year offer additionally requires an unused offer within the original eligible trial window. Credit uses the source order’s product currency and the server quote, not a converted buyer debit. Refunded, partially refunded, refund-pending or still-credited monthly orders cannot receive full credit again; see the full-upgrade-refund restoration rule below.

An upgrade replaces the source monthly entitlement with 12 months in total from its actual start date, preserving and shifting other valid terms. Upgrading a month purchased during a trial therefore retains the remaining trial time. After the 30-day credit window, an eligible account can still buy the offer at full price. Quarterly, six-month and annual plans are not included in this monthly credit rule.

The source monthly order, upgrade and refunds remain linked. Verified refunds adjust the corresponding entitlements while preserving other legitimate paid terms; support reviews duplicate charges. Eligibility uses the verified payment-completion time, not merely the time checkout was created.

Standard product prices: 1-month personal: CNY 15.00 / US$2.90; 3-month personal: CNY 35.00 / US$6.90; 6-month personal: CNY 59.00 / US$11.90; 2.0 permanent license: CNY 199.00 / US$39.00; Lifetime license: CNY 399.00 / US$79.00; 12-month personal: CNY 99.00 / US$19.90. Applicable taxes and the final payment total are shown separately at Waffo checkout. The WeChat Pay route uses independent CNY product prices; the cards and international payments route uses USD product prices. Checkout may convert the selected product price to the buyer’s local currency. This does not merge the two independent price lists. Available payment methods, payment currency, conversion fees, taxes and the final total are shown at checkout and on the payment confirmation screen.

The first-year offer is CNY 59 in mainland China or US$9.90 internationally for twelve additional months. It is available once per account within the original trial offer window, with the original deadline unchanged by another purchase. Check your account for the exact deadline, which can be affected by the device’s trial history. This is not a recurring renewal price.

The first-year offer is determined by the original eligible trial deadline and previous offer use, not the current plan. A monthly, quarterly, six-month or regular annual purchase does not remove an unused offer within that window. Website and channel purchases share the same one-time eligibility. Refunds do not automatically restore a used offer. Unpaid, failed or canceled unpaid orders do not consume it or extend its deadline.

The final price, applicable region, payment currency, any applicable taxes and total amount due will be displayed before you confirm a purchase. Prices in different currencies are not a fixed exchange-rate promise. Any separate currency-conversion fees charged by a payment institution or card issuer are governed by its disclosures to you. Price changes apply only to newly confirmed transactions and do not increase an existing order’s charge or shorten an acquired license.

6. Payments and digital delivery

Sign in to the website account receiving the license, then create a Waffo checkout from our purchase page. The server verifies first-year offer eligibility against the first trial, once per account. Do not buy using a bank transfer, another person’s checkout, or a product link unbound to your website account; such payments cannot be matched automatically and require manual review. New accounts need no trial code. Existing purchase codes and eligible test invitations remain redeemable under their supplied terms and do not reset first-trial records for the account or device.

For Waffo Pancake transactions initiated through the official website, the Waffo Pancake Merchant of Record/payment entity identified at checkout processes payment, applicable taxes and refunds under its disclosed terms. Shen remains responsible for software functionality, license delivery and technical support.

Each purchase authorizes only its displayed payment, with no automatic renewal. After verifying payment and account ownership, the server grants the selected term or performs the confirmed upgrade. A notification email failure does not invalidate delivered access. Sign in to the same account and refresh access in the app. If you paid but access is missing, check the order or contact support before paying again.

If payment has been made but the license is not delivered within the promised time, the download is unavailable or activation does not work, contact samskaras@163.com with your account email and order number. We will investigate and provide delivery, a fix or a refund under the rules below. Do not send passwords, full card numbers, card security codes or original experimental images.

7. Refunds and consumer rights

After a full upgrade refund and resolution of every descendant upgrade by refund or cancellation, a valid unrefunded source can be credited again within its original 30-day window at a new quote. This does not reset the deadline, first-year offer or sold launch slots. Partial refunds, unresolved disputes and descendants require review. Lifetime users cannot buy redundant term access; 2.x permanent users may still buy a cross-version term.

First-purchase guarantee: you may request a full refund of your first purchase within seven calendar days after its successful payment. The license need not remain unactivated, there is no usage limit, and downloading, launching or using the software does not disqualify you. A request sent within those seven days is timely regardless of our processing time. Explaining your reason helps us improve but is not an additional condition of this guarantee.

Outside the first-purchase guarantee, including renewals and later orders, we still address duplicate charges, failure to deliver as agreed, substantial faults attributable to us that are not remedied within a reasonable time, and refunds required by law. Duplicate amounts are refunded. If delivery or essential performance is impossible, the affected purchase is refunded. Partial failure is addressed through a reasonable proportional refund or another remedy you agree to.

A change-of-mind refund for a later purchase is not covered by the first-purchase guarantee where none of the issues above or statutory rights applies; we will review the circumstances and explain our decision. We will not exclude valid refund rights merely because the product is digital, has been activated or the account has been suspended. After a refund, the license or additional term supplied by that transaction may be withdrawn; this does not give us ownership of, or a right to delete or alter, your experimental images.

This policy does not restrict mandatory consumer protections, including applicable withdrawal or cooling-off rights, quality guarantees, repair, replacement or refunds. Where EU, UK or other digital-content rules apply, any legally required consent to immediate performance and acknowledgment concerning withdrawal rights must be obtained separately and expressly. These terms do not treat downloading, activating or using the software alone as a waiver of statutory rights.

8. Refund requests and billing disputes

Send refund requests or billing questions to samskaras@163.com with your account email, order or transaction number and enough information to identify the issue. The first-purchase guarantee does not require proof of non-use or a special reason. We will request only reasonably necessary identity or transaction information.

We will acknowledge a request within two business days and make a refund decision within five business days of receiving it. If verification requires further information, we will promptly identify what is necessary; unnecessary requests or our processing delays will not invalidate a timely claim. Once approved, we will initiate the refund to the original payment method within five to ten business days. Receipt depends on the payment institution, bank and currency processing. If the original route cannot accept a refund, we will verify an appropriate lawful alternative with you without imposing unrelated conditions.

Business days in these terms are statutory business days in mainland China; shorter deadlines required by applicable law take precedence. Contacting us first may help resolve an error promptly, but it is not a prerequisite to seeking relief from a payment institution, bank, consumer-protection body or competent court, and we do not require you to surrender or withdraw a lawful dispute.

9. License and intellectual property

Subject to these terms and your license details, you may install and use the software within its term and device allowance for lawful research organization, teaching or related work. This is a limited, non-exclusive license, not a transfer of software copyright. Resale, rental, sublicensing or circumvention of license limits requires express permission. Uses, research or interoperability activities protected by non-waivable law are not improperly restricted.

Rights in the software, documentation, branding and instructional material remain with their respective owners, and applicable third-party component licenses remain effective. Using the software does not transfer rights in your source images, research records, projects or figures to us. You must be entitled to process the material you use and comply with relevant institutional and third-party confidentiality, privacy and intellectual-property requirements.

10. Research integrity, acceptable use and backups

Check source images, exposure, selected regions, background, normalization, lane labels and assembly relationships, and disclose processing as required by relevant journals and institutions. Do not fabricate or falsify results, conceal improper reuse or display images misleadingly. Automatic matching, numerical measurements and reuse reminders are aids, not certification of scientific validity or publication compliance.

Do not break into, damage or excessively disrupt account services; attempt to obtain another person’s account or data; distribute malware; abuse email endpoints; or engage in unlawful conduct or infringements of others’ rights. Report security issues to samskaras@163.com without exposing another person’s credentials or private information.

Keep complete originals and independent project backups, especially before updating, changing computers, cleaning files, closing an account or uninstalling. Local autosave and account sign-in are not cloud backups. An exported figure is not a substitute for a project backup containing complete originals and editing information; verify backups in a compatible version. Your responsibility to back up does not release us from liability imposed by law for defects or unlawful conduct.

11. Privacy and data

The Privacy Policy explains how account email addresses, secure password hashes, licenses, device information, security records and support information you provide are handled, including purposes, service providers, retention and rights requests. These terms do not require you to submit original experimental images or grant us permission to use them for other purposes.

After opening the Waffo Pancake hosted checkout from our purchase page, enter sensitive payment details such as card information there. Do not send them through website feedback or email. Payment-data handling follows the disclosures and privacy information shown at checkout.

12. Availability, updates and support

We will maintain the software and account services with reasonable care and skill and address reported faults. Compatibility with your operating system and file formats may be required; verify important operations and outputs before relying on them. Except where expressly agreed or required by law, we do not promise uninterrupted operation, complete freedom from errors or suitability for every particular research purpose.

Maintenance, network faults, security incidents or third-party outages may affect sign-in, account email or activation. We will reasonably investigate and, where feasible, explain the impact and recovery progress. Release information will identify known compatibility changes. Routine updates will not retrospectively remove substantive features or duration already purchased. Prolonged failure to perform is addressed under the refund and termination provisions and mandatory law.

13. Suspension, termination and account closure

We may suspend relevant functions or an account to the extent necessary for a serious breach, credible fraud or security risk, or a legal requirement. Unless urgent risk or law prevents notice, we will explain the reason and provide a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue or appeal. Measures should be proportionate; minor or unrelated issues do not automatically justify permanent closure. Request review through samskaras@163.com.

If we discontinue the service or end an unexpired paid license for a reason other than your breach, we will refund its unused prepaid portion in proportion to the affected license’s actual price and remaining duration compared with its full term. Paid extensions that have not started are treated according to their unused portion; a free trial has no payment to refund. More favorable mandatory rights or the first-purchase guarantee take precedence.

You may stop using the service or request account closure at samskaras@163.com. We will explain the effects on sign-in, licensing and device management and handle verification and data under the Privacy Policy. Closing an account does not automatically extinguish a valid refund claim or require waiver of statutory rights. Complete any local backups you need first.

14. Responsibilities and reasonable limits

We remain responsible for product and service obligations imposed on us by law. You are responsible for your experimental design, use of materials and verification of results, but that does not transfer liability for our faults or product defects to you. Both parties should take reasonable steps to prevent avoidable additional loss. The causes and responsibilities for issues involving research records should be assessed against source material and available evidence.

Only to the extent applicable law permits an agreed limitation, contractual damages for loss caused by ordinary negligence are capped at the amount actually paid for the license concerned during the twelve months before the event, and we are not responsible for business losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. This limitation does not reduce the express refund or delivery remedies in these terms or apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

In particular, these limitations do not exclude liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, personal injury, legally imposed personal-data responsibilities, mandatory consumer protections or other liability that cannot be limited by law. If a limitation is unlawful, invalid or inapplicable to you, applicable law governs; it is not interpreted as removing all responsibility.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of mainland China without displacing applicable mandatory law or consumer-protection rules. Non-waivable rights provided by the law of your location remain available. These terms do not require you to accept compulsory remote or foreign arbitration.

If a dispute arises, contact samskaras@163.com so that we can try to resolve it. Informal discussion is not a compulsory prerequisite to a complaint, payment dispute or legal proceedings. Either party may seek relief from a competent court or authority, including local remedies you are entitled to use under applicable law.

16. Changes, versions and contact

The revision date is shown under Revision at the top of this page. The announcement and original effective date for earlier terms are identified there. Changes with a material effect on existing users will be announced on the website or sent to their registered email at least fifteen days in advance, identifying the changes and effective date. Matters that law requires us to address immediately will be handled as required, with an explanation as promptly as practicable.

Changes to existing substantive license rights, charges, automatic payments or other matters requiring express consent will be submitted for separate agreement. Silence or continued browsing is not a substitute for authorization. No charge arises from a new purchase or renewal arrangement you have not accepted; existing licenses remain governed by their agreed terms and applicable law.

These terms are available in Chinese and English and are intended to express the same rules. Contact us about a translation discrepancy or an unclear provision. A discrepancy must not reduce rights expressly promised to you or statutory protections. If one provision is invalid, the remaining lawful provisions continue to apply.
