WB FIGURE STUDIO

Upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0

Continue with your existing library and entitlements for editing, quantification and export in 2.0.

Before you start

  1. Close the older app, then follow its update prompt or open the Windows 2.0 build from the official downloads page. Keep using your existing account; registration is not required again.

  2. 2.0 first uses an already established 2.0 workspace. Otherwise it recognizes the same account’s older data location and reuses the images and library. Necessary editing metadata is saved before migration, without duplicating the entire image library. Existing paid terms and the original trial deadline continue.

  3. Review images, strips, figures, history and measurement records before continuing. If the original data folder moved, select it through recovery. Separate workspaces are not automatically merged or overwritten. Continue keeping an independent project backup for everyday protection.

Free and advanced tools

Registered users retain free import, strip editing, display adjustments, figure layout and standard export, and project backup/restore. Antibodies, intensity analysis, replicate analysis and source-data reports use an active trial or paid entitlement.

Display preferences, keyboard and unsaved changes

Choose language, appearance and text size in Settings. On Windows, Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+6 open strip editing, figures, common proteins, source data, quantification and same-protein comparison. Use Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Y to redo. Finish typing before switching. Save or update a strip when prompted. Discard removes the current draft. Scroll to see more controls on small screens.

Verify once and keep working offline

After successful online verification in 2.1, basic offline access on the same computer lasts up to 30 days. Advanced access ends at the earlier of the trial or paid expiry and that 30-day limit. A 2.x permanent or lifetime license still requires verification every 30 days. Restarting does not renew the allowance. Signing out ends it. Advanced expiry does not delete projects or independent permanent rights.

Older versions, tutorials and folders

Once the upgrade is published, 1.0 will show a 2.0 update prompt and download only after confirmation. Tutorial practice and personal projects stay separate. Do not treat the autosave directory as temporary. If it is missing, use recovery to select or create a folder instead of registering again.

Files and rollback

Projects use .wbfig. Save a separate project backup before upgrading. Downgrading the app does not convert project formats. Open projects containing newer features with a compatible version. Check the platform and build before downloading.
